Identify this bonnet ornament...

Can anyone identify the orgin of the hood ornament previously fitted to the front mudguard of my latest Lambretta?

Looks like a stylised F-86 Sabre jet, so I would have to guess 1950s American, but more specific I can't do, sorry.

I don't think it is from a particular car, more a generic aftermarket accessory, they were very common and very varied.

Thanks for the suggestions.  The scooter is sixty years young and resided in Italy until a few weeks ago.  I'd imagine the ornament was fitted in the early days, as the scooter appears to have been off the road since the early 70s. 

If nothing else, it's got me looking at 1950s American hood ornaments on Ebay for ideas - there are some proper stunners available!
