Wish You'd Bought Something Else/Who are you trying to kid?

I was out on site today in the sunshine, unfortunately without a camera, parked in front of me in Porthcawl was a Chrysler 300c, nothing unusual in that apart from the half-arsed rebadging. In chrome letters across the bootlid BENTLEY and TURBO, the front badge (chrome mesh grill not the chip-cutter one) had a nice black B stuck to it, as did the bootlid chrome badge. I'm sure if you really wanted a Bentley you could get one for less than the cost of a diesel Chrysler.

I pity the Fool.

A lot of those Chryslers are made into stretch-limos with pretend Bentley badging, usually referred to as a "Baby Bentley".I'd love if Bentley commenced some kind of legal action resulting in them all being taken off the road and crushed, leading to loads of loud, podgy women not being able to go on hen nights.

A mate of mine has done exactly the same thing to his 300CPaul "I got the Bentley kit for my 300!"Me "We'll never get a 6.7 turbo V8 under the bonnet"Paul "Huh?"Me "If you've got all those shitty badges I swear to fuck I'll put you on Barryboys"

Someone local-ish had a Ford Capri with a Tickford(?) body kit thing and Aston Martin badges.Must have fooled half a dozen twelve year olds and no-one else.

Defo better than the TR7 F40. But could not be any worse.I reckon those 355's look pretty good. Would happily tootle along in one of them, but the price is quite extreme. probably reflected in the quality of the kit. Never seen them side by side before mind you, so might be sorely mistaken.

Having done far too many kit car shows over the last 5 years (and had adjacent Club stands on more than one occasion) IMHO it takes a certain type of person to drive a Ferrari replica.......... "delusions of grandeur" springs to mind, the car in front is a re-styled Toyota with enormous wheel spacers thats all!

There are plenty "rebranded" Bentley/Chryslers round here (including a minicab :shock: ) I'd feel a proper chump in one of them. Maybe that's why they all have "privacy glass"

Those Chrysler 300C's are quite an appealing machine I reckon, however anyone who puts Bentley badges on theirs is clearly a moron and should be euthanised forthwith.Somehow I am not surprised to hear there is someone selling over-the-counter 'kits' with bentley badges etc for utter cretins to exchange their hard-earned for and apply to their Chryslers.

There was a Ssang Yong 4x4 thingy in a staff car park at Sandringham House when we visited with the the number plate ***ANN. It was plastered with Mercedes badges and other club/society plaques. Delusions of royalty! I really should have taken a photo...

How about these all blacked out with angel eyes and Ripspeed 'daylight' lights, with a bald, fat driver completely decked out in JJB's and Elizabeth Duke?

The more recent 'footballer' ones can be bought for as little as 10k, so they're hardly unobtainable by the working class on the never-never! I'm sure they're really nice, but there's nothing more vomit inducing or transparent than trying to be something you're not by driving a second hand vehicle on finance.

I have seen a couple of Mercedes Sprinters with Dodge Sprinter grilles. Strange.

Like this?

They also badge engineered some other sprinter varient, this one by Freightliner

Apparently they dont sell too well......

But i imagine people who buy them over here presume a speedy Viper esque van, or to give the impression to others it is.

A Dodge 308d would have been more desirable.
