Zut alors! Thought you might be interested in this one, Vic picked up this 205 diesel.

Not often you see vehicles now with different colour doors, but this one has - bonus shite points. Also some GR8 TRIMZ, seems like the Dewsbury motoring trade are selling some awful ones at the moment. Anyway, dunno why they changed the doors but it couldn't have been due to rust, check the sills!

Anyway it's been a laugh, but it's up for grabs if anyone wants it, stuck it on Retro Rides if anyone off here wants to impress some French ladies with their chic new ride.

As it stands now, I think this suits Vic very well, a vehicle with odd-coloured doors is definitely very him, he's constantly lowering the bar. Just thought I'd get that in first as he said he was going to come on here and make some hurtful comments about me later, the rotten hooligan.

I had a little giggle at the superimposed Eiffel Tower. Good work. I like 205 diesels, they are pretty lively wee things.

Even more amusing than the different shade on the doors, is the positioning of the trim... surely no trim at all on the doors would've looked better? My imagination's also working overtime trying to figure out why the hell they were swapped in the first place.

"I'd walk from Larne to Dublin for the forty shades of green"Or in this case, red. Qual shite.

If you look at the sill pic you can see the door one is a decal rather than a rubbing strip  Waaay to much time on my hands....

My bad! Now I'm also baffled at how that shade of green was ever considered a compliment to red...

Fooled me, I thought you'd collected it from Paris! Was wondering about the UK plates.

The subtlety of Hirst's work is magnifique

"nions" is the most genius touch of all, in my opinion.

It is very well done, I have to admit. The only reason why I knew it was superimposed is that I've been to Hirst's place, and know that the background's a bit off. Although I did go in the dark. It's excellent in that it evokes seeing the Eiffel tower for the first time....it just sort of.......appears, in best John Berger style.

It's Blackpool tower - Hirst lives at the top of the Pennines and it's a really clear day....

Correct! To be honest, I wish I had time to paint the doors and get it looking at its best, source some bizzare Peugeot trims from a scrapyard etc. Though knowing me, I'd probably just clean up and respray the stock steels in silver and source some rubber centre caps. Scum-spec!If I get time, I think I'll give it a proper clean.

I Am The (thread) Resurrection(ist)...

Anyhow, y'all have missed the bargain of the year 8) .

Made it back to my mountain retreat with no hiccups whatsoever. Truly amazing amount of poke from a N/A diesel - I actually can't remember the last time I overtook so many cars in the space of one journey.... Feels genuinely 'French', too, in the nicest possible way, with seats you could literally fall asleep in.

Tomorrow, with daylight, Wife will discover that her eagerly-awaited new ride is in fact '2-tone'. Rejoicing will doubtless ensue
