This was stunning, It drove past us with it burbling stainless exhaust, It as only got 43000 miles on it and it was a 5 speed manual as well and it was mint, I nearly jizzed my y-fronts over it. 8)

That XAS rod is gorgeous - no silly wide tires etc, very cool. Zagato made some wackily cool cars too, anyone know what kind of mushrooms he was on while sketching?

Posted

Mmm, a Bedford CA, so that's me happy! :D Some gorgeous old motahs there Trigger, but mostly far too shiny, to the point of being perverse. How "right" does that V8 look in the FE though eh? Great cars those, IMHO. 8)

Wow that Lancia Zagato is very different to the ones I am familiar with. Those curves are all over the place! Love the sweep of the (opening) back screen. The Mk1 Woodie Cortina belongs to a chap known as "imperial" who was on R-R. I know his son is pretty involved too.Moonraker blue Vitesse....I will have to get one eventually.

I think it was his son who had brought to along, He must of been about 17-18 with his girlfriend, Yes i was VERY jealous! The Mk1 Cortina is one of my mostest favorite cars EVA.

It has a 2004 Duratorq and I have driven it a few times. We hired it for The Bank Job.

Ahh I thought the colour scheme looked familiar!, And the Duratorq lump explains the gear lever as well, Bet it drives nice.

What do you think of the other Mk 1 motor home Fred?.

Posted

Balls! Why did I forget about this... GGRRRRR

Only up the road to you as well, I did do a reminder in the events thread last week.
Posted

That Lancia is actually a Flavia Zagato but gorgeous all the same. Love the rear windows into the roof. Great pics.

That MG magnette pickup thing has been around for a while. Here's a pic I took of it in 1996!

Am I the only one who thinks those 'half a car" trailers done to match the tow car look utterly shit?

No, the ones merely cut in half like that 1300 look pretty vile, but I don't think anyone could resist this :

(Photo lifted from Flickr as I can't find the one I took of it there  )

That Mk1 Transit with the Duratorq mota is the business. I need to buy a decentish size van, that would be loads more fun (and a really useful promotional tool) than the Sprinter I'm having a look at tomorrow...Great pics, thanks for posting - R5 Turbo2, Capri, Mk1 Cortina Woody and Escrot van for me plz! That 2CV is utterly horrible!

Good thread.Harrier looks great, and you're right about the wheels. Shame the same cant be said about the Ginetta on 1.9 GTI wheels.Lancia-Zagato is a stunner too - we need more Zagato's!
