More shite tech help needed

Mazda 929.Hasn't been running great for a bit now. I stopped using it a couple of weeks ago, but now when I start it, it struggles to turn over - not like a flat battery - more like a stuck engine. Also, when it runs, it sounds like it is misfiring, but when you listen closely there is a banging noise, like a gremlin inside the block trying to get out! Is it borked?

Banging noise could be because a plug or cylinder is down. I'd whizz the plugs out and either clean them up or replace them and try again.

you tried boosting it to make sure its not a bust starter motor(boosting i mean jumping/bump starting not stealing one)

Just replaced plug/leads/ coil. Changed points and condenser, but then it wouldn't start, so I put the old ones back on.
