I have a Thunderbirds inspired idea.

I have been thinking.

There are a few of us scattered around Europe and beyond.

There are a few of you who drive around this here Europe in highly (un) suitable vehicles.

There have been a few inquiries about breakdown cover for the older generation of vehicle.

Faith in the human race could be restored.

The idea is:

Autoshite Rescue Services Europe,

Help Only Lifts Extra

I have no idea how this could work or if any are interested.

Would any of you in Europe, including the UK be interested in setting up our own international rescue service .

We could offer some sort of lifeline, cups of tea, translation services, plus anything else you want for the intrepid autoshite explorers who have got into difficulty far from home.

I am sure you can all see the obvious name for this organisation from the description above ( look again). Use only the letters in capital. !

How would / could this work.

A hidden directory of emails or phone numbers of volunteers.

Any input welcome

Or is this a stupid idea, it's ok I have thick skin

I can just imagine the conversation when you walk into a motorway services and you get asked "Excuse me sir, do you have breakdown cover?".

"Yes"

"Could I ask who with?"

"ARSE HOLE"

The Triumph Sports Six Club ran a Self-Help Scheme for years (possibly still does) where members put their contact details on a list of those who were willing to provide one of a range of helpful sevices to other members in the event of a FTP. They ticked those they could provide e.g. telephone advice; physical help to fix; collection from roadside; lend of tools, tea & a safe, dry place to wait; overnight accomodation etc. Members received the list every year and it was a very useful thing.

Now if only all volunteers could get busy with body kits as per pic above we are onto a winner, the AA top boss would soon be asking his overpriced publicity turnips why they had not thought of such vehicles.

I just thought an " arse hole" members sticker would go well under a autoshite sticker.
