Good call. Those old Mercs are charmers, but restoration is SO expensive. Not to mention, building one from rusty bits.

You walked away from a free car? Can I have the number of your therapist please? Looking at the pictures it's final resting place won't have done it any favours, would imagine all that damp grass would play havoc with the bodywork.Parts are quite reasonable for old Mercs but they aren't fetching much money these days so doubt it would be worthwhile spending shed laods on it. Shame really as I reckon they're quite cool.

Have to say I'm kinda glad - France needs an assortment of old cars sat around in fields / corners of farms / gardens. It's just not the same without them!

I doubt that could be towed away, half would be left in the ground!I would have taken it anyway and taken all the bits off for ebay sale.
