That's very kind offer mr peel.

I've had a thought while at work which is when I do all my thinking and I've decided to mix petrol and diesel together in a can and pipe the can straight to the pump,  this will either fix it or exploderate it,

prace your bets now.

Posted

Today a stuck one and a half litres of diesel and half a litre of petrol and a capfull of two smoke oil in a can,  added an electric pump and started her up and ran it up to full temp in the hope it would clean out the pump.

It started ran and ticked over sweetly but still won't take any throttle, it probably revs to around 2k before sounding like it's starved of fuel again, I got the engine up to full temp and the fuel pump was quite hot but still not ŕunning right,   With the electric pump off the engine lost revs and started to sound like it was going to cut out and when turned back on the engine returned to a good tickover and would take small amount of throttle again,

I might try it on 50 50 mix of diesel and petrol tommorow as nothing to loose really and what today's trial found out was that the fuel delivery is not the problem.

Still not going right with a stronger petrol mix so looks like it's now new pump or strip down time,   I'm not ower keen on the idea of pulling a pump to bits as never done that before but look what I've found in my stash of goodies.

This is a bosch pump off a landrover 300tdi so I shall strip it down as a practice run first.

I knew I had one somewhere and funny how things turn up when you don't need them.

Haha one for glove box one for toolbox and then when I decide to service it again I'll make another because I'll probably forget where I put them. ?

So with me having far to many things to do I've never got back to the van again, it's just a shame I wasn't  furloughed as I could do with a few months off work.

Anyway This morning the clutch arrived for the Tonka toy as it's been getting harder and harder to get into gear lately,  I emptied the garage and reversed her in and set to it.

20200430_085647.jpg

First job remove the loader amd guess what the darn bolt snapped and then the drill blew the fuck up fucksticksdagnastycockerhoop.

20200430_100805.jpg

The only solution I could see was jack her up removes front wheels and wiggle the whole frame under the tractor in one piece and dump it outside for a later date.

Wheels back on and strip down commence.

The rest off The loader is full length of the tractor and the Buzz gun made short work of the bolts.

20200430_135840.jpg

Chucked outside out the way.

20200430_135913.jpg

More bits removed and now I can see the belhousing.

20200430_140420.jpg

Part pile growing fast.

Trolley jack under back half and an axle stand for good measure and another trolley jack under the sump ready for separation.

20200430_145038.jpg

After undoing all the bolts round the belhousing it was a simple job to just pull gently on the front wheels and the while lot parted very easily.

And the clutch looks a little worse for wear, the thrust bearing has nearly worn through the pressure plate.

New plate was covered in anti rust grease but it was a bit hard to get off

After much cleaning and changing the thrust bearing the clutch was bolted back on to the flywheel,  no clutch alignment tool as I've never used one I just set the clutch plate evenly all round and bingo she slid back together like I'd planned it to perfection or maybe just luck.

The marriage was quick and easy.

20200501_100725.jpg

Bolted back up and all the parts now get refited again.

20200501_101442.jpg

I started the job at 9am and finished the tractor around 3pm as I had to cut the lawn,  it's all together now and the test drive was perfect but bolting the loader back on will now have to wait till Monday as it's the weekend woohoo.

I think this thread may just evolve into a chuck it all in one place what say ye ?

This trailer is the one the floor fell through with the breeze blocks and since I was given some heavy duty flooring Saturday was booked for this job,   removing the old floor was done simply by pulling at it where it just fell apart, probably the original flooring I guess so well past it.

20200404_160704.jpg

The off cut wood pile grew.

20200502_161902.jpg

And after much  measuring and cutting job done.

And then the grass cutter was in need of attention as the deck pto was inop.

A look at the belts and it's easy to see why as there is far too much slack in them to grip the v pulleys so crazy slipping resulting in no cutting.

20200501_193220.jpg

Yup they're mullered alright.

20200501_193312.jpg

£25 quid later and two new belts.

20200501_194311.jpg

Tested then all that was left was to fit the bonnet and cut the grass which it did perfectly so money well spent.

So Sunday started very differently indeed,  the phone calls haven't been incoming for a wee while due to the lockdown but This morning was the usual call from an old mate regarding some one wanting a car taken away,  okay I'm on my way just slipped out my mouth before my lips could shut enough to keep the words in.

Hi ho hi ho it's off to England we go and I've knocked this guy before but he'll not Part with anything at all.

So after collecting matey boy 40 mins later This vital journey was complete and here was the reward.

Fook me it's well grim and been off the road for two years, moldier than anything ive seen for a while.

20200503_140756.jpg

20200503_140227.jpg

70 k miles and he stuck the jump leads on it as the battery was well dead wouldn't even light a single light on the dash,

He reckoned it's never been started for years and after sitting jump leaded to the guys  l200 it only bloody started and ran very smoothly,

So do I need this,  nope

Do I want this,   nope

Can I be arsed with collecting it,  nope

Can we agree a price,   nope

So since I didn't have the heart to tell the guy his car was worthless we chatted for a bit and then he says don't suppose you now anyone after a pick up,

Ooh says I  howay then let's see it so round the back he shows us this.

Forgot to take a snap so took this when leaving.

IMG-20200502-WA0000.jpg

So a quick look at it and then the price came up again, some people have no idea how to sell a vehicle but after some minutes we agree on a price and I slip him a deposit so the day was not wasted and when I go back to collect the pick up I may even offer on the wee pug.

Tonight's the night and taxi of choice the mates lovely coloured puke,   we set off met the chap placed cash on bonnet told him my name and addy for v5 and job done one pick up picked up.

Grim.  But as a tool, you take the carpets out and stick some mats in it.

Is it rotten?

I've no idea I just bought it from standing in front of it, tonight was the first time I even drove it and I'm pleasantly surprised, I will admit I was a bit shocked at the state of the interior but hey ho.  for the money I wasn't expecting much to be fair and I shall get the pressure washer out this weekend and see if it's okay,  its moted till July so I'll just go with it for the time being.

Yes I'm a Muppet and not content with buying one skip I'm still working on the why have one when you can a have two method.

Anyone ?

And this just happened.

20200507_184253.jpg

Good bye wee godzuki you served me well, this little vit has shifted tons and tons of shit all over the place and been well worked towing way more than Mr suki ever intended, I would recommend one to anyone as they're a gutsy wee jeep, I just hope this ranger does as good.

The morning was bright and warm and it's a bank holiday too, bonus no work today or so I thought,

I opened the door of the truck and guess what its never got any cleaner since I parked it in the garden and it's bloody bowkin,

20200508_114118.jpg

Out came the old socket set and I removed the front seats and the ashtray has spilled over and filled under the seat too.

20200508_114622.jpg

After removing the seats and carpet theres a bit of surface rust on all the floor bungs so I'll brush it down and stick some paint on it.

20200508_121831.jpg

I mixed up some cleaner in a garden sprayer and sprayed the whole door and you could see the dirt running down, might be the fact that I mixed it  10/1  instead of  100/1  so bloody well strong.

20200508_125427.jpg

20200508_125438.jpg

The steering wheel clocks and stalks where all like this handbrake thick with gunge yuck.

20200508_134449.jpg

Dashboard spotless now and isn't sticky to touch anymore.

20200508_153954.jpg

Centre console was that a bad if my pressure washer was working I would have just used that but instead I had to spray cleaner on then rub like a mad man with the stiff brush and hose off, then just stuck it on the cooker to dry.

Take a look at this, all those fag ends and ash everywhere and a thick tar layer over everything and here we find an unused fag lighter can you believe that.

So after half finishing the pick up this was dropped off.

It's got plenty differences but the basic pump looks the same, what can safely be removed then?

20200508_171455.jpg

20200508_171447.jpg

It's sat on a shelf for quite a while but was assured it did work fine before the engine threw a rod.

I had already bought the second ranger because why not, so I went over to strip off some bits,  I decided to start with the big bits first so out came the windy gun and wheels off first.

Look at these wheel studs, they look a bit iffy that's strange wonder what's happened there then.

20200515_191653.jpg

Something doesnt look right here can't quite put my finger on it though.

20200515_191636.jpg

And after using some tyres I had on trooper wheels that where sitting gathering dust the ranger now looks quite beefy although it has had a noticeable effect on acceleration, it looks better so we will just ignore that bit,   I did obviously expect a difference as I've went from standard wheels at 205/70/15   to 265/70/16 So quite a bit taller, the Speedo was over reading by 5 or so mph according to those in town speed display thingys so maybe it will be bang on now.
