Ease up on the Landy bashing lads. While I would rather eat a ONE LIFE sticker than put one anywhere near a vehicle, I prefer my Disco to J-tin. Sorry. If we were only interested in vehicles that are actually good, we'd all have to leave this forum.

sorry, just don't get it. People genuinely love em but anything I've had to do with em has broke my heart and emptied my wallet. No offense intended, we all have our kinks

it's not the landy I'm angry about. The landy is just doing as it's told

It's the owners who add those stickers that I would happily fill a mass grave with.

I think you need to chill out a bit, its only a flipping sticker at the end of the day.

Thats right guys, this is actually a CLASSIC MINI TRAILER don't you know, could be yours for just £250! Theres no subframe like or tow hitch so you'll need  proper trailer to take it away.

I think it's unique as it still has the roof and all the rear windows. Does not have subframe or a boot.

THERE IS ABSOLUTELY ZERO VALUE IN THIS THING YOU TWAT

could be some sort of outdoor smoking/wanking shelter. A mate of mine had the front of a montego nailed to the side of his shed, lift the bonnet to reveal BBQ! Was shit tho

So would be a BNP sticker.

No, it doesn't work like that.

As a relative newcomer to the Land rover 'scene' I can see where some of this is coming from. The scene is a bit like a microcosm of the general motoring community.

- The Evoque Driver - don't get me started

- The cream coloured range rover sport/vogue - sales director or managing director, usually of a carpet warehouse, 30 years ago it would have been an XJ6 ( a wiff of 'trade' as Mrs Bucket would say)

- The yummy mummy in the Disco 4 - aggressive and large, the fake tan, blond hair and gym body  - 30 years ago think 240 estate

- The 'URBAN WARRIOR' - this involves buying a defender and covering it with shit. Some spend thousands on this, you only have to look at Land Rover International to check out the adverts and you will see what I mean. Ridiculous acessories that are totally unnecessary in the suburbs and would probably break the moment you used them in the environment they were supposedly designed for. Checker plate, lighting bars, twat stickers - all look pretty daft when the reality of extreme off roading is a green lane in wiltshire - you don;t need bear proof  tyres in the UK - I suspect this is the type that is causing the ire here.

- the classic brigade - instead of an e type these guys spend £25k on a Series 1, Series 2;s in good nick are also in the price bracket of proper classics. Cheaper is the Series 3 These along with the next group have a healthy contempt for the above. If you don;t understand the appeal of driving one of these horrible old draughty tubs then you have never driven one - they bring a huge smile to your face the moment you start and if you don;t believe me - try it sometime. On the oldleafsprunglandrover forum adding 'items' to your land rover like the urban warrior does is treated with derision.

and then you get the shitters - Series 3's and the Mk1 discos - we use both in our business - Discos because they are tough and excellent tow cars despite dissolving and the engines are not common rail. Series 3s because with the leaf springs they make a more stable albeit slower towing platform for large single axel loads. we also need the off road capability. Shitters tend to use 4x4s when they need a truck.

personally, although i have 5 trucks - (2 series 3, 1 disco, 1 range rover, 1 pajero) I would rather drive a car on the road any day - even the 'civilised' trucks will kill you if you swerve and they all drink fuel and handle like buses

^^Scooters' comments. Not going to waste space copying it again but yep, pretty fair assessment IMHO . I genuinely enjoy driving my Disco 1 and have yet to yearn for a winch / OLLI sticker!
