We had an '82 316 getting valeted before heading to its new home. The lad came and asked for the keys. I gave him them. Five minutes later, he came back,

"I think there's something wrong with it. It turns over, but it won't catch."

"It was fine yesterday. Did you pull the choke out?"

"What's the choke?"

I'm adjusting the ignition timing on a customer's 628 CSI on L-Jet the other morning when fully qualified, time served mechanic, Darren (26) arrives.

"Morning."

"Morning Darren."

"What you doing?"

"Setting the timing on this. The owner has been buggering about with it and it's a wee bit out and it's not idling properly."

"Whassat?"

"A timing light."

"How does that work, then?"

"Haven't you used one?"

"I've seen one. Some of the old guys used to have them in their boxes, but I've never actually seen one being used."

The garage that did the belt on my Sierra didn't even have a timing light.

Brave to have no reserve on that Visa, as it looks great!

Okay, I admit it. The closer these get to shite territory the more I'm starting to fancy one.

I'd like one as well, although not in silver. That is bloody cheap, perhaps too cheap........?

There's an interesting buyers guide in Dollywobbler's recent German classics mag.

Agreed, silver is waaaay too obvious - but something like this in green with grey slip-on leather interior definitely looks quite smart these days:

There is one in JRG at my work which looks quite smart, I reckon.

If I was in Geordie Land I'd be having a look at this. One for the late reg madness. It looks like a pearler.

3.0 V6 Initiale, 33,000 miles. Price is £2995 but just look at it!!!! If you didnt know it was a Laguna then £3000 seems a flippin BARG. However if like me you started to get 'the urge' from looking at the pics, simply google "Renault Electronic handbrake' and you'll be instantly cured.

Hey Bollox a pal of mine is selling a 3.0 V6 Slag Estate for £400 if you want to tick the V6 box? MOT'd till April 1st (aren't all Laguna's?). He's near Derby.

How full of sheer, unadulterated WIN is this?

Oo - I'm sure you'd soon get fed up with that and want to fix it.

I really like it in that colour, nice and understated. Haterz gonna hate, but am thinking of either a TT, Cooper S or Mercedes CLK as my next "proper" car

I'm looking at this and thinking, hmm 2600 quid that's not bad.  The worlds gone mad, back in my day you could buy 6 xr3i, for £10 and still have money left over for steak buy and chips and a tin of sweet heart stout.
