Bmw recall now that’s what I call service

This one is only a 118d but it seems to have plenty of poke but I didn’t really give it the beans as it only had 20 miles on the reserve tank when I picked it up so I just chucked £12 in the tank and did about 60 miles (Hailsham to East Grinstead then back to Bexhill-On-Sea) if that and the reserve tank light has come back up again.

I know diesel is quite expensive but if I chucked that in petrol in my 1.8 M43 engined cabriolet which weighs about the same as an ocean liner or my M44 compact both wouldn’t be far off that.

So my conclusion is buy an old petrol BMW and keep your fillings but then the 1 series had only 5000 on the clock so maybe the engine might get better once it’s done a few miles.

My car is now ready so I’m off to pick it up tomorrow and hopefully I can help myself to coffee and cakes lol

I had a new 118d auto as a hire car in 2016 and it did 49 mpg overall.

But I got over 40 mpg overall from a 1995 318Ti on a tour of Scotland.

I picked the car up at lunch time nd it had even been hoovered out and given a wash also was told yesterday that I would most probably have to pay something for the courtesy car but didn’t have to in the end so I’m over the moon and even had a free coffee and picked up publicity sales brochure for the new 3 series.

Also the steering feels a lot more direct than before but I think it might just be a placebo effect or it might just be because it has a lot more feel than a new 1 series sport but I did like the i drive.

but I did like the i drive.

Is that the twiddly knob that alters everything on the screen, then you have to touch the touchscreen thing to make anything happen? It terrified me on my brother's car, I accidentally knocked it and lost the SatNav picture

My GT 86 is going for new valve springs soon as Subaru in Japan have had reports of some heavy handed twats breaking their engines.

If this was Ford they would tell you to fuck off, on my mums then 3 year old Fiesta a few years ago now (54 plate, ex Ford press car), the rack was fucked, this was at less than 30k I may add, car just minutes out of warranty, Ford basically stuck 2 fingers up, and actually said dont drive over speed bumps or round too many corners! Ford don't give a fuck about punters and they wonder why they are in a financial mess with sales imploding worldwide. VW are doing the same, with their turbo engines and dieselgate in Europe, but not in septicland, all the diesels got recalled, and punters put in petrols, Europe, a right royal FUCK YOU, VW should be brought to book, and management banged up for the mess they caused, why people still sign up to PCP pland for anything VAG, it just puzzles me as to why

Recalls are for safety things though, the emissions stuff wasn't safety. In any case probably about 10% of the customers who are kicking off and partaking in class action give a shit about emissions, but they've spied free money and they "know their rights".

Not sure if there was ever a recall on the Fiesta rack, if there was they should have done it but if it was a straightforward failure out of warranty then yeah, can't imagine them falling over themselves to hand out free repairs.

Back then, customer retention was not a priority. Ford were in good shape - but now?

Saw a new Focus today - it does look good.

My 04 530i went in for recall in August last year. I had to hang around in the dealer for an hour or two and the experience was so unsavery (“aspirational”) that I sold the car shortly after!
