anonymous user Posted October 9, 2018 Posted October 9, 2018 Working washers are a legal requirement....Not necessarily, if they are fitted they have to work; however I have had cars that did not have any, they were not required as the cars had opening or folding windscreens. OK they'd now be MOT exempt due to age, but something like a Caterham on aeroscreens won't need washers, or wipers to be legal. Barry Cade 1

somewhatfoolish Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 Stagnant washer bottles are the worst. When I bought my landrover the screenwash bottle was opaque, pouring it out the water was filled with black jelly string; this explained the drought at the windscreen, although LR washer jets are shite anyway. Normal service(weak intermittent flow like an advanced case of prostate lurgy) resumed after a rinse and lurid yellow screenwash added for extra amusement. Aston Martin and Bamboocarman 2

Didn't need wipers or washers.
