Now I am looking for yank cars! the film is set in California in 1957, so given this is a dry state they will have to be good! If somebody mentioned this in a PM to me, it's dropped off my inbox!

If you fancy any period correct modified cars of the sort that were all over CA in the '50's let me know and I'll see if I can help

Yes and no, I need some stock stuff first, thanks for the offer.

That would do. Can you get me some pics please? Would they be interested?

Yeah, I expect he'd be up for it.I'll go round there when I get home & ask.

I have found out more about the production. It will be shot in Lincolnshire starting 6 Sept for one week. The characters are country housewives, so I am thinking station wagons or possibly a pick up truck, though I was sent an example pic of a 2 door sporty looking car and a four door one. I am going to have to be careful not to fall into the 'LOM everything is brand new' trap.

That's a real shame as a mate has just sold his 46 Ford Coupe & 56 Belair covertible. He has a model A but that is hot rodded

Any idea where they went?

The 56 went to sweden for 25k. The Ford has supposedly stayed local but no one has seen it since he sold it. I will give him a bell tomorrow and ask if he can give me some contact details for any old yank owners that may be interested. Presume you would prefer stock looking stuff and all yank?

Yes please, on both counts. I am thinking that they should be about 5/6 years old (in 1957) so that would take it back to the 1940s, even harder to find

just tried ringing and his phone is off at the moThe 46 looked very stock down to steel wheels and conolly hide leather interior but sported quite a highly tuned small block chevy lump. The car was of course black. He used it for my daughters prom night! It got photographed way more than all the stretch limos whic are so last year

Is not Elo now near Northolt? And it would cost you BIG TIME, no doubt....:shock::roll:

Well as the shoot's in Lincoln so the petrol would cost big time if nothing else.....

Fred, Got hold of mate and he is in contact with the owner of his old 46 Ford.I haven't seen him for a while but he advises he also now has in his collection a 54 2dr Ford.I will pm you his tel number so you can give him a call, I have given him a brief run down already. He is on holiday in Dorset at the moment and phone reception is patchy at best so leave a message if you don't get an answer

Contact the Pre 50 American Auto Club - I went to their show in Herts on Sunday - probably 20 1956-1957 model year cars alone, let alone other 50s and 40s stuff, of which there was multitudes.

Where was the show? Remember the shoot is in Lincolnshire....

Rally of The Giants at Knebworth, Hertfordshire. So it would have been South East cars in the main, but there are a lot of Yanks in the East Midlands and Yorkshire, so many would have come from places not that far away from Lincolnshire.150ish cars is probably a fair percentage of the pre 1960 yanks in the UK.

I was ROTG's, I'll get my pics up soon. Fred I'l talk to the father-in-law as up until Christmas he had a '52 Packard 200 Club Coupe (base model, nowt too flashy) and a '38 Opera Coupe. A guy called Tommy has them both now, although Im not sure if he's up for 'working' them as such.
