My Mrs would love me to get something like that as she would want me to put a horsebox body on the back!

Dont entertain anything for recoveries without a turbo....seriously....you will fall out of love with it rapidly

Will be horrendously tiring

I love these things, used to look after a couple for a company I worked for, and the young lad was forver blowing it up, blaming the dogleg box. I put 2 engines in one, they go in through the passengers door with a forklift.

Notice there is a wee Pinin parked beside it in the pic, does it have a bullbar?

Late to the thread but my advice would have been

GIB! That's ridiculously tidy for the money.

Treat the rubber mat over the engine cover with great respect or it'll disintegrate.

They can start really well, but will tend to smoke a bit. Mine's never had a problem with emissions come test time, amazingly - perhaps my garage are lenient... Watch out for cracks in the two large strip fuses in the engine bay - these supply the glow plugs and will make starting a chore if fractured.

I've harboured the idea of putting an electric PAS off a Corsa in mine as iirc it's doable and considerably cheaper than trying to find a dead LT with PAS and transplanting it.

That sounds to be going well. I don't think you'll get much more speed on than you already got, sticking brakes notwithstanding. You might claw back a few mpg though.

The fuses can be a source of trouble - if something stops working, give the associated fuse a wiggle.

Doesn't look like you need any panels quite yet, but there's a bloke on the brickyard forum that makes 'em all, allegedly.

Make sure the brake proportionating valve at the back axle is operating before you go for an MOT.

Well jel.

New accelerator pedal fitted, brakes stripped and cleaned..... its getting a wee bit of attention with the sparkly stick on a wee hole that was provoked to be there....  4 new quality* hingfly tyres are on the way for the back, then down for an mot and see what's what.

Tyres and exhaust on, sparkle stick stuff done and a new mot with no advisories obtained . :) I needed* to use the flatbed on the way home to collect more unwanted shite..... Two wheeled shite. I am finding myself drawn to old bicycles.... It was free
