Ok, so I appreciate you'll be long gone before the 5th Sept Ballyclare Auctions shiter meet-up rolls around, but if you're currently in the Whitehead/Carrick-ish area, how are you fixed any evenings this week?

 

Naturally you've got family commitments, but if you could find an hour or two in your trusty Filofax I'd certainly be game to meet up for a coffee anywhere that suits (other beverages are available); mebbe a few other local shiters could be enticed at short notice?? Bitta craic, laugh at each other's cars, that kinda thing.

 

Dunno whether Whitehead has much in the way of late opening, but potential places in Carrick that keep the doors open til around 10pm or so include:

• Springsteens (down beside Sainsburys, decent diner scran, plenty of parking);
• Creed (across the road from Sainsburys; good coffee, but wildly popular and parking sucks);
• G's Coffee Lounge (out by the lately-demolished BP garage on the Shore Rd at Fortfields; smol but good coffee and shite-friendly decor);
• Castello (formerly the Coast Road Hotel; nice stuff although maybe slightly chi-chi for hairy men with an appetite for rubbish cars);
• Brewers Fayre (facing the harbour adjoining the Premier Inn - rubbish coffee, soulless decor, but free refills and the 12-year-old staff don't give a stuff if you sit there all night).

No pressure if you're otherwise engaged; just wouldn't want the occasion to pass without a stab at trying for a meet (since you've already met Joebai's XMs, and may even have stumbled across AdamMcC's rattlecan black Mk3 Cortina in Whitehead too).

 

Sure PM me if you reckon you can swing something, and I'll put the feelers out!
