VBOA Event Market Harborough, 50th Anniversary of Viva GT

Today was the Vauxhall Bedford Owners Association event at Market Harborough showground, a field somewhere north of Northampton, and one huge distance from Southampton where I live but of course also a long way for those from the North so probably a good choice of location.  This year is the 50th for the first Viva GTs so the other HBs joined in on the 50th act, including mine, which is 1967 and therefore slightly confused.  The HB Viva turnout was quite astonishing, which partly seems to be due to a big effort from some people.  A good day out, though a bit hot really.  Heres a picture of my car with another one which is due for restoration, and is actually better than it looks.  Well, a bit better anyway.

Damn. I used to go to this event when it was held at Billing Aquadrome.  When it moved, it dropped off my radar.

Yeah me too. Probably last time I went was 2006, maybe. I would be in Puddle duck with the Mantas.

Coming back from Santa Pod today, I joined the A14 behind a Viva that was going along at about 75 mph.  Passed it a bit later in heavier traffic and saw the Viva GT badge on the rear quarter panel. Nice looking car in a dark bronze colour with chrome (what I assume are) Rostyle wheels. Really nice looking car, and very quiet exhaust.
