A few factual errors in the gumph they've written about the adverts, for example thats a Mk IV Escort surely, & they weren't manufactured until 2003 (unless they were manufactured abroad for some developing country or the like....)

I've been looking for an advert that was for the Nissan Micra in about 1995/96 (the 'Ask Before You Borrow It' ones). Some bloke came home and then some woman was eating being really S&M with the food, and then handcuffs him and takes the keys leaving him handcuffed. She looked like a girl I was seeing at the time and would like to see it again to how far off I was!

Thats a Mk5 or 6 depending on how anal you are Escort, not sure if they were made until 2003 though but I did see an X plated estate a couple of weeks ago. Had to do a double take though as first one I've ever seen that late. The Focus came out in 98 I believe.

The last escort rolled off the line in 2000 so X is about as late as you'll get. I think they were afraid that as the Focus was so different the punters wouldnt like it at first.. like they hated the sierra when it first replaced the cortina.. so decided to keep making escorts as well for a bit.Would have been interesting to see how many cortinas they would have sold V sierras if they'd kept making them for a few years too!

Saw an X plate Escort Estate myself the other day, & also had to double take. The Crocus had deffo been out a couple of years by this point.Also agree that you could call the one in the ad a Mk V or VI if you are splitting hairs. Safer to call it a Mk 4.5 I guess......

Clutching at straws, the Escort van continued a bit longer I think I once saw one on a 52 plate but by then the Connect must have been rolling off the lines.

Looking on the autotrader site, It seems there are a few Y reg Escorts about, Must be the very last ones though.

Vans don't really count though: the Citroen Visa was discontinued in 1988, but the C15 van varient soldiered on until 2005**** Info from Wiki, ergo probably hopelessly inaccurate
