Where to buy?

Sounds like a stupid question but where would you recommend to look for old cars in the UK when you are not familiar with the market? I'm searching from Germany so the net would be the only option.

Gumtree seems to be best for 'not sure what it's worth so I'll price it realistically' old cars now, as eBay and auto trader have ventured the other way. I've bought a few things off of there and never experienced any of the issues other have.

Autoshite.  Seriously, it's the world's greatest resource of reasonably-priced old cars.

Autotrader can be good. Gumtree again can be OK, but a lot of dross on there.

 

EBay isn't a good choice, cars go for well over the odds, its notorious as the last resort when selling a car.

Gumtree has always worked well for me.

 

As others have said, loads of dross but some winners amongst it.

S3 and 90s XJ in particular but Audi 5-pot Cabrios and Coupés as well. Maybe a descent E39 above 520 for a daily, can't buy them in D for some reasons anymore.

Interested in an early seriously well cared for Boxster manual, too.
