mitsisigma01 Posted January 10, 2018 Posted January 10, 2018 In this wonderful world of Shite does anyone happen to have a guide for motorcar ft plugs from possibly 1990/91/92 ish ! Whilst tunnelling my way through my garage I think I saw a box with approximately 150/200 spark plugs of unknown fitment, I did find what some of them fitted but unfortunately I didn't have a rare model of Ferrari but I do vaguely remember that some fitted a 3.1 Ford engine and possibly some 3.0 Ford's but I have misplaced my notes from way back when . Also in the garage is a box of fuel and oil filters by Crosland possibly but again have lost my notes . Any help greatly appreciated
Guest Posted January 10, 2018 Posted January 10, 2018 Try the NGK cross reference page- they list Motocraft. https://www.ngkpartfinder.co.uk/cross_reference.php?type=SPARK+PLUGS&manufact=MOTORCRAFT And Euro car parts are the distributor for Crosland filters, try putting the filter number in the search box. Sometimes you have to go backwards to go forwards with parts finding..
mitsisigma01 Posted January 10, 2018 Author Posted January 10, 2018 I know I did try for ages with not a lot of luck and eventually that mission fell to one side to be buried in the garage but I shall try again . Were motorcraft linked into ford main dealers at some point and they kept changing numbers ?
somewhatfoolish Posted January 10, 2018 Posted January 10, 2018 Was Motorcraft not the FoMoCo equivalent of Unipart? mitsisigma01 1
PiperCub Posted January 10, 2018 Posted January 10, 2018 That's what I thought, I always assumed (rightly or wrongly) they were owned by Ford themselves. Like Unipart/BL, MOPAR/Chrysler etc. mitsisigma01 1
mercrocker Posted January 10, 2018 Posted January 10, 2018 I am pretty sure my local motor factor would still have a Motorcraft list for the 90s - they never throw anything away. Let me know if its needed and I'll ask them for it. Motorcraft were indeed to Ford as Unipart were to BL - they used to go under the Autolite name - a company which Ford bought out in 1961 before being bollocked by the Feds for some kind of monopoly shizz and having to create their own in-house brand. mitsisigma01 1
mitsisigma01 Posted January 10, 2018 Author Posted January 10, 2018 As with all my quests they are never easy . It will probably take the best part of a day to extract the boxes from the garage or the task of finding two scraps of paper which the Mrs could of tidied up or thrown away but has definitely moved them from where they were .....
egg Posted January 10, 2018 Posted January 10, 2018 What part numbers do you have? This is it - a google of the exact numbers in "xxxx" format will almost certainly yield results.
fordperv Posted January 10, 2018 Posted January 10, 2018 Google the part numbers and it will come up with fitment details e.g. AGPS071C - escort rs turboBRF22C -pinto engineAGPS22C - sierra/granada dohc also 1.4 and 1.6 cvhThese are some I'd be interested in buying if you have them
egg Posted January 10, 2018 Posted January 10, 2018 Yup, that's what I meant - if you google "6789181" Ford You'll get Mondeo base wheel trims (and probably see details of me trying to find some )
