Renault XR25 diagnostics tester values.

These XR25 testers where used by Renault main dealers and are often most useful for Renaults between 1984-2000 ,why do these still demand such a high price?,they are quite primitive but look super cool and make lots or very interesting noises when in use, they still seem to demand a sensible price,so why so expensive is it they are still more complex in telling you issues with your Renault than a modern handheld device?

Here is an example just shy of £500!

Out of interest does anyone have one of these on here?Or more to the point actually after one....

Is there anything else that can fully diagnose 90s Renault's to the same degree as the XR25? I guess there isn't many out there and the sellers can price them to whatever they feel like.

I've been tempted to reverse engineer one and make a modern version, just they're too expensive as a possible project that sits on a shelf.

They were only issued to Renault dealerships and not every dealership got one either, also the fact that most were used and abused so often are broken, have screen crystal bleeding and  most are incomplete, its not just the actual XR25 its all the cards, instructions, leads that are mostly the problem, also running the last cassette number 18 is a must really.

Hi,
I have got one of these. Bought it for 100 Euros. It hasn't got the latest cassette but I won't need it for my R25 V6T...
There is also a Xr25 pc version that I got running.

It is a useful piece of equipment. However, it just sits on the shelf as my R25 runs faultlessly.

There's a guy on the Jeep forum on Yahoo that's built an Arduino based one expanded on the work I did for mine, nice little hand held unit with an LCD screen, you can build it for about £30
