Breaking my 307

This is a new adventure for me. I've never broken a car for spares before. The 307 is not worth repairing so I'm going to strip what's easily sold then bridge the rest.

If anyone wants any bits let me know. It's a 2005 1.6 hdi in "sport" trim. Of note:

Set of 5 16" sport alloys with 4 almost new tyres, while the 5th wheel has a brand new one.

Almost brand new genuine Garrett turbo - This has literally run for about ten minutes before the engine was pronounced dead.

At this stage absolutely everything is available....

I've just broken a 307. Didn't make me a millionaire but there was demand for the alloys (£100), panels, ecu and lockset, indicator stalks (they regularly go wrong) and the CAT is worth a few quid too, on the 2.0 HDis anyway. Check completed listings on ebay.

is the the 90bhp or 100bhp model?

I've just bought one from here, and wouldn't mind getting a few small bits and bobs for one.

It's the 1.6 110bhp version. Let me know what you are after. The engine itself is fairly gubbed but everything else on the car is in fine fettle

Is the spare wheel carrier the same as an estate?

Spare wheel is in the boot in the hatch, I take it the estate has an underslung carrier?

What's up with it engine wise? Apparently the injectors and stuff go onto the 90 and give it a bit more poke, but that means a turbo too and to be honest it's fine as it is with just 90 for my needs. The wheels might be of interest is it a facelift one? Wouldn't mind having a box of bits on the shelf just incase. Light clusters, switches, the sort of stuff that gets damaged and breaks kind of thing.

I'll get some pics up tomorrow. It's a pre facelift sport with the 5 spoke alloys.

The old turbo went due to oil contamination from a leaking injector seal. The oil feed to turbo line was a poor design (Peugeot issued a revised feed pipe) so clogged up with sludge.

Turbo ran dry and had catastrophic failure.

Reassembled with new turbo it ran well briefly but started making very terminal shaky noises. Mechanic and myself reckoned likely cause fubared cam chain tensioner (Was noisey before under load)

At this point it was going cost a fortune in labour to strip and diagnose so I took it home and done it at my leisure. I've found the tensioner to be ok however the oil everywhere is like tar.

I think perhaps it's ingested some of the old turbo. To know for sure would require a full strip down and It's probably more economical to just replace the whole engine...... but we are starting to get into big money.

It's already had an MOT patch on the offside sill and seems potentially crusty elsewhere.....along with a clutch that's starting to slip, no point changing that without a DMF and there's the work that'll need done to reassemble the top end including recutting the injector seals etc etc

Shame as I really liked it but it's not worth throwing more money at.

What's the spec and flange fitting on the turbo? Thinking of fitting it to something else..

Not a clue but I'll check the numbers on the side and look it up tomorrow dude

I'd be interested in the Abs pump ecu?

Spot on, cheapest on eBay is £15 with free postage, so to a shiter I think £10 including postage is fair?
