I'm not one for starting new threads willy or nilly, but it occurred to me that this might not be utterly cretinous. Some of us enjoy old car brochures, but very few of us are fond of spending the money that's required to procure them. Also, ironically, there are probably people out there tripping over brochures they don't want, but who are tragically lacking that one, worthless yet elusive document they've always wanted.

 

Well, here's my solution to this hitherto impossible problem. The great Autoshite car brochure swap shop, a method of making sure all our excess brochures are distributed appropriately, without recourse to spending money.

 

List what you've got, look at the thread and go "got, got, need, got, ooh, a shiny" in school playground Panini style. No cash taken, no el edmonds. Lets get swapping.

 

The RoadworkUK Collection

 

1) Datsun Stanza brochure, 1982. 10 Pages

 

 

 

Good condition except that it originally had gatefold flaps front and rear, which have been lopped off at some point. Means standard equipment list is missing.

 

2) Ford Mustang II brochure 1978. 16 pages. Marginally bigger than A4

 

 

 

No clue how I ended up with this as a duplicate. A little wear to the spine and wear commensurate with being lovingly thumbed through over four decades. Includes Cobra and King Cobra if you like that kind of thing. Some mildly daft prices are being asked for these on eBay

 

3)Renault Motor Show 1982 Range brochure. 7 pages. A4 size

 

 

 

Has somehow been bent diagonally at some point, but it's not ruined. Double spread for R20/30 on p5/6

 

 

4)Daihatsu Charade brochure 1983 (Launch). 10 pages. A4 size

 

 

 

A few light marks and a dealer stamp prevent this being worth TOP DOLLAR. eBay prices range from £1.50 to infinity.

 

 

5) Opel Range brochure Oct 1977. 12 page fold-out. A4 size

 

 

 

Top left corner slightly snubbed, that's about all that's wrong with it.

Typically sells for four sovs and up on eBay.

 

6) Audi 200 Avant (launch) brochure. German text. 8 page fold-out. A4 size

 

 

 

Learn German the Audi way. Niche interest here, I know. But quite nice anyway.

 

 

7) Citroen full range brochure: 80 pages. A4 size

 

 

 

Reet nice, this. A little wear around the staples, but otherwise in good working order. Contains 2CV, Dyanne, Visa, GS, CX, eBay values all over the place. Not to be confused with the tiddly version with the same pic on the front.

 

Opel GT2 Concept brochure. 6 page fold-out. A4 landscape size

 

 

 

Nice period piece, and in English. A few marks as evidence that it's been read, but otherwise well maintained. Some properly lunatic prices being asked for this on eBay.

 

 

9) Saab 9000CS brochure 1992. 34 pages. A4 size

 

 

 

Top left corner has taken a slight impact at some point, but these things happen.

 

 

10)  Audi A8 brochure pack 2002

 

 

 

 

A8 pack is sleeve, main brochure and details (features and spec) brochure - about 120 pages in all and actually 2002. Top left of 'details' brochure has taken a slight impact, but that's about all.

 

11) Mercedes CLS brochure 2007

 

 

 

CLS brochures are 38 page range brochure and 35 page price list - the latter is dated April 2008 but covers the same models as the Oct 2007 brochure. Condition is near as dammit immaculate. Size is that strange halfway-between-A4-and-A5 landscape format that Merc adopted around 2003.

 

12) Mercdes CL Coupe 2007

 

 

 

CL is same size, 94-page hardback. Quite posh. Pretty much perfect condition.

Hey, I'm deffo interested in the Audi A8 pack and the Mercedes brochures.

 

I've got a couple of early Rover 800 brochures and some new car brochures (mainly Vauxhall/Ford brochures) all doubles of what I've already got if you are interested? Otherwise I can chuck some moolah your way for them instead.

I like the idea of this thread and hope it takes off. I have decided I only want to keep a brochure for cars I have actually owned so these are either duplicates or for some reason I have a brochure for a car I never owned.

12 pages, dated March 1983

Lots of pages and foldouts

8 pages dated October 1980

12 pages dated February 1979

 

I am after brochures for either, WV Corrado, Suzuki SJ, Suzuki Samurai, Suzuki SC100, Rover 214 (R8), Rover 25 Bubble, Ford Granada MK2 estate, Volvo 940 estate and probably some others I have forgotten.
