So last night I disconnect the earth lead on the battery so I could remove the airbag and steering wheel on the Laguna as I had managed to track down one of the optional Initiale steering wheels, all went fine, reconnected the battery and set radio etc no probs thene the windows all fine excep the NSF,it now doesn,t work on either the switch panel on the drivers doorcard or the switch itself on the NSF passengers door, also the N/S mirror isn,t moving or folding,it all worked fine before I disconnected the battery.

I have checked fuses, removed both front door cards to inspect for broken wires and found nothing and checked the wiring behind the rubber covers on the door shuts for broken wires, still nothing found,i disconnected the battery again, but no luck, what do you think?it all worked fine 24hrs ago,no issues and nothing has got wet etc...

Stiil out there now TRYING to sort it,the genuine workshop manual suggest fuses but the ones I have looke at are fine, there are 3 on the fuseboard, one for osf window one for nsf(not working)and one for both rears...

Also notice I get a short peep sound when ignition is turned one,but no warning etc all is fine....

Got it...

I decided to remove the NSF door card again and plug in a spare window reg I had that works fine from a breaker and everything worked fine!

So its a problem with the NSF window reg control unit, this reg has been the only one changed in its life aswell according to the paperwork and it was genuine Renault dealer fit...

Was it broken before you took the battery off? Apart from the drivers windows, the others tend to only get used when I reconnect the battery and have to reprogram the auto down & up!

Sorry to hear of your woes. I'm wondering if my window died (only one out of 4) when I unplugged the egr valve without disconnecting the battery... Might try popping it off when I get home and seeing if it fixes it... Then unplugging that window from the switch...

Check the integrity of your battery connections first, very easy to dislodge such things when playing about with stuff. Usually easy to test with a basic multimeter. Seems you've found the error but always worth a second check, it's solved a load of issues for me over the years with various cars.
