Mine goes, fog light, headlight, hazard, heated screen from right to left

Yeah it's the fog light I reckon, now I look like a complete dimwit.

Thanks for the help.

I've just picked up an LS430 and whilst googling a few bits and pieces, came across a lad who's squeezed an LS430 lump into a Scimitar.

Might be a relatively simple way* of fixing that oil leak.

Well mainly due to being lazy, this got shipped into a local garage.

Luckily it's only two mins from work so I kept popping in to see how it's going.

Stuff that got done

Timing as it was way out

Rocker cover gaskets

Rear diff pinion seal.

Auto box sump gasket

Kickdown adjusted

New Ball joints

Exhaust repair

New battery

New temp sender

New temp sensor for the fan

Carb rebuild

He told 99% of the bushes look past there best and it could do with all the water hoses being replaced. Bloody hell.....

When the carb was taken off it was found it was missing the Webber w plate that sits underneath and has the two prongs that direct the air forward and back across the banks of cylinders.

Since it's return. It picks up loads better and doesn't seem so flat. So that's nice also before if you was doing 50mph and just slightly put more that 2 grams of pressure on the accelerator it kicked down to second. Not good. But now you can boot it when traveling at a fair speed.

Here it is sitting outside my office waiting to go home.

But now the fan stays on for like 15 mins after you switch it off, it sounds like a bleeding 747 is taking off on the drive.

It's one of those temp sensors with a temperature dial on so you can decide when the fan kicks in.

Where is the best place to put the sensor, it's currently in the top water hose.

I am off to the retro rides show tomorrow in it to clear its throat.

Holla if you see me.

Top hose is good as that's the water temp coming out of the engine.

I seem to recall my dad's Renault 21 had fans that stayed worked after switching off & that tended to run for 10mins or so after parking on a warm day.

Went a bit retro rides today.

I have decided that's it really too quiet and I wanted more of an exhaust note.

So cut the front silencers out and replaced with a straight bit of pipe.

Maybe a bit loud now. Will see how I get on.

Also have been cleaning the interior a bit at a time. Looking a lot better.

Well this has just sold.

This was the best. The bloke sent me a few messages before saying would I store it for a few weeks while he sorted a flight, now that would of been a collection mission.

Hi Dan,

I can´t stop getting back to eBay and look at your Scimitar, and like I mentioned, it´s pretty hard to find one I like and especially when not living in the UK, so I have to play a dirty trick and offer you more than your asking price - GBP 3500
I´ll PayPal you straight away and go to Nottingham to pick it up in the coming week or the next - whatever is more convenient for you.

Thanks, Kristian

At first I thought i was pushing my luck with the price but now I am thinking I could of got more.

Anyhow was a good short spell with the grand coupe.

Onwards and upwards.

Please DO NOT accept PayPal for a car that’s being collected in person, even in two or three weeks...The buyer can easily get PayPal to reverse the transaction any time in the next 180 days by claiming the car was never received and without proof of postage etc, you’ll stand to lose the car and cash.

Google it...it’s a well known scam.

By all means take a smallish deposit by PayPal but insist the balance is paid my cash upon collection.

Not teaching you how to suck eggs etc but it’s a minefield accepting PayPal these days.
