Previoysly I mentioned the esp/handbrake malfunction light were illuminated on my petrol a6 - a run on the motorway revealed what I felt to be some hesitancy when the car was being driven at motorway speeds.

Would a faulty coil or something else show up as an unrelated fault? I will be getting it into a specialist next week.

What donk is it Bren?

One of our resident proper-bo mechs will probably tell me I'm talking bollocks, but I would expect an EML and a really lumpy idle if a coil pack was on it's way out (regardless of lump).

The 1.8t in my Octavia is sensitive to a sticky throttle body, to the extent I now clean it when it gets serviced. Would recommend cleaning the MAF too.

Hasn't stopped mine hunting mind.

Lambda sensor could be clagged up with something, that caused issues at motorway speeds on my Rover for a bit.

2.4 pez. It stutters ever so slightly on tickover ( the engine is so smooth you immediately notice when something is not right), to be fair the car is no ball of fire anyway but it seems to be taking longer to get up to speed. Car is an 04 with 55k miles.
