POL is coming up in about 2 weeks time, this year falling on the Saturday of the Easter bank holiday weekend. Any fellow shiters planning to go? Think I'll take the Mg Express van. I've booked to stay the night before at the local premier inn, and the geek in me has figured out that I'll be sleeping in what was I think a machine shop in the old north works.

I'll try and be there in the Metro, but if the weather is shite I'll turn up in something else and park outside.

I'll be there, but in the Disco.

The only thing I have that's British is the X308, and I don't think they'd let that in would they?

My plan is to be there with my Moonstone green 75 V6 Touring, but that has not been used for weeks and I have not even retrieved it from its resting place.

1st reserve yellow ZR and if that goes tits up 2nd reserve nightfire Rover 114 SLi on its last day of MOT!

Lets hope all is well with the 75 and here is a picture of it for identification purposes.

I took my Standard a couple of years ago, people liked it despite its Coventry origins it does have a vague link to the Rover name just like the Jag

I've emailed them. Lets see what they say.

They let Chinese shite in so why not?

They were all in the same (sinking) ship once so why not?

I'm not advocating an autoshite 'stand' but maybe we could consider the option of parking up somewhere predetermined if people are so minded to gather and talk shite. I remember meeting with Robt in 2015 as we were next to each other in the queue purely by chance and we ended up with a small group basically wherever we chose to park.

Its not confined to Longbridge built Class, so how can you distinguish between Brown's Lane when Cowley, Canley, Solihull, Abingdon, Speke, Swindon, Castle Bromwich, et cetera are are allowed in?  Did I mention Chinese shite?

Wonder if I can persuade my mate out with his Innocenti Combinata? Maybe we can go and do some handbrake turns in the remains of CAB 2, or shoot a wacky slo mo Ken Block video.

We'd make a massive entrance, obvs - probably by playing the arcade soundtrack from Daytona USA or something.

The queues to get in to the park on Lowhill Lane are impressive. there's a LOT of cars to get in and the road is still open to normal traffic, so the marshals are keen to get you in. I'm sure if you stuck your indicator on, and followed the queue, you'd get anything British and loosely BL related in to the show. They're unlikely to argue the finer details with you with the traffic backing up and if anyone DOES question your choice of wheels, I bet they'd back down before you did.

I don't think it's that much of an issue, anyway. Looking around the show, I'm sure most of those showing cars there would be surprised to learn they only started building Rovers there in 1984ish!

I've even snuck stuff in to PoL made on a different continent...

Now we're talking!  That looks like a Mk2?

Aye, it is. Granite Purple outside, white 'leather' inside and a 'dark oak' wood effect printed on to the interior plastics around the heater controls and gear stick. It's bloody brilliant.
