Junkman's yer man, he seems to have his finger on the P6 pulse.  Good luck!

Does your mate want a 4 or 8 pot? The rear brakes are very complicated so ideally you want one which has recently been rebuilt or at the very least be in rude health. Take the rear seat base out and check the floor for rust as they are very good at hiding rot.

Most other stuff is just routine, parts are reasonably easy to source still with a few specialists online who keep most stuff, I'm still undecided if I'm going to keep mine yet, as nice as it is it's a little bit old feeling for me, i really fancy something a bit newer at the moment but I'd want £3000 for mine.

They can look great but be totally rotten underneath so beware . There are sill covers so it's not always obvious.

The v8 is quite strong but can suffer from cooling issues as there's no remote overflow so can be a pig to bleed . They can also vapour lock in traffic as there's a lot of heat generated by that motor and the intakes pulls air from the engine bay and not a cool air source .

They drive really nicely and the brakes are excellent when fixed .

No direct P6 experience, but a bit with the V8 - they can hide their wear well, by still sounding sweet even when worn. Ideally check out more than one to get a feel for how it should perform. A compression test would highlight problems if allowed, both with rings/valves but also a worn cam which they are prone to.
