Suzuki ignis help please.

A mate has an mot failed 2000 plate Suzuki Ignis sitting at his house that he said if I took it away I could have it, so I went round the other day to get the battery off it and check it over to make sure it's safe to move but he's lost the keys. I managed to get the doors open as he said there was a spare in the glove box but there isn't. The local suzuki dealer has quoted £180 for a new key which is more than the car is worth.

I've seen ignition barrels and keys on ebay for circa £20 but this won't disarm the immobiliser, anyone know of a way to bypass this? I realise this may not be the sort of thing to put on an open forum so if anyone does know could they message me please.

Is the car worth more than £180 once fixed up with a years MOT? Failing that, and it sounds daft... have him find the keys? Presuming he drove the thing home after it failed it's MOT the keys can't have gone that far, right?

The keys must be in his house but he says he's searched and can't find them. It's not financially worth getting a new key from a dealer. It needs about £50 worth of parts, then an mot £50 + £180 for a key = £280 and I think even with 12 months ticket it wouldn't be worth much over £300, it is tidy and reasonably low mileage but old cars just aren't worth anything.

I'm just going to have to keep hassling him to search for them some more.

He hasn't looked hard enough then. I bet it's sitting in the pocket a jacket he hasn't worn in a while.
