Hertz
Got to replace the gearbox in a Alpine GTA(we want to remove the engine and box on the subframe from underneath so need to get the car very high). I need to borrow/hire or even buy 2. Anyone got some in the North West, or know a decent tool hire shop that has them?
Rocket88
I've actually seen one of these done. Two scaffolding planks, a lot of concrete blocks, and some judicious work with a trolley jack were employed............................
Dead_E23
I wouldn't even consider lifting a normal car with a Hi-Lift unless I had a thing about nurses. I've got one for lifting the Defender, and even with its special adaptor I reckon the potential for serious injury is roughly on a par with spring compressors or an angle grinder.(Having said that, I did see a company offering a handy looking 4 post lift with one at each corner - very expensive, though).
