A mate of mine took across a Golf GTI  to race at Bercy stadium Paris.  He said the French packed lunches were vastly superior but the peeps were much the same, which is good or bad depending on your POV.  

Surprisingly popular with the locals were Autobianchis.   Which I don't think were ever sold here??

I recall getting very sideways with much hilarity in a friend's field in his tatty but still road legal chipped Impreza. Sadly there weren't any clapped out Mondeos to ram into.

Probably. Entertaining the crowd. Same thing happens with the reliants racing over here especially with big crowds of bank holiday punters at Sheffield and Bellevue that aren't your usual rigger boot hivis stereotypes
