need a o2 sensor and dont want to pay £££££ for a genner

is there a trusted aftermarket brand thats of a reasonble quality or all made in china shite ?

I would get gen. They aren't always expensive.

I changed the front one on a neighbours 2010 Corsa for a brand new Bosch unit for only £40 delivered.

I also recently needed one for the Suzuki Alto I currently have and whacked a good, used genuine one in that.

I generally dislike cheap Chinese shit, but am also very tight fisted / skint, so I stuck an ebay special for about 12 quid into the Escort and it was fine.

Granted, its an Escort, I could probably have stuck a banana in the hole and had the same result.....

Few years ago I had a Vectra B that used to run a bit rough, idle shit etc. Like all vauxhalls the EML was permanently on anyway so no clues there. Just unplugged the O2 sensor in the end and let it run open loop, it ran beautifully, passed the emissions too

Probably as good as putting a cheapy eBay sensor in.

Used to top it up with used engine oil as well because it drank oil like fuck, not a bad car other than that though

who makes genuine ones though....i know of bosch there must be others ?

then theres the risk is the one in a bosch box real or still made in china fake

Bosch, NGK, Denso, maybe Siemens? the usual suspects really.

I've just ordered a Bosch universal for my Subaru as a genuine one is £150+.

£44 delivered for the Bosch universal and it comes with a kit to make up the right connector.

Real question, if different people make "genuine" (Siemens, Bosch, Denso etc) then what makes something non-genuine?

or put it this way....cheaper than dealer sensors that actualy work

same way youd fit bosch /ngk /beru plugs in your car but not ebay no name ones

For each car the OEM supplier will probably be one of those, occasionally more than one, mainly Bosch on European cars. The stock sensor on my Subaru is a Denso as are many Jap cars.

The generic Bosch I've gone for isn't original, but is hopefully OEM quality, but generally anything that's not from the manufacturer in a branded packet would probably be considered non-genuine, even if its the same thing in a Bosch/Denso box.

I suppose the hierarchy goes:

Genuine from car manufacturer

Same make as that in a different box

Another "premium"/OEM make

Random Q-drive/sensorsRus non branded from eBay/ECP etc.

Everything Bosch branded I have bought in the last 25 years has been absolute toilet. Do they have different standards for OEM kit?

might have sorted it

another forum says mustang ones are the same if youre happy to splice the connector on

so £26 for a boxed bosch one from a big ebay seller, fingers crossed its a real one

Theres a lot of fake / questionable Bosch kit about - bought a MAP sensor for a Corsa D for a stupidly low price on eBay that was "Bosch" but the price said otherwise

Granted it sorted the car and it's still running well so

I fitted a cheap one to a polo and it lasted a couple of weeks. Stick to genuine.
