BM catalytic converters (any good)

Now that the car sounds like someone has thrown a bag of spanners into the engine bay due to the cat breaking up I will need a new one sooner rather than later and obviously a main dealer one is out of the question so it's going to be a cheap one or I just turn the stereo up as the garage said not too worry but it's a bit embarrassing when its rattling away at idle at traffic lights etc and it's making the neighbours curtains twitch every time I pull off the drive.

Well I've found I can get a cheap cat for under £60 from a company call BM catalysts for my Car it's just a shame it's not a single cam E36 as on Amazon I can get an obsolete old stock one for under £10 by playing with the part numbers but I wondered if anyone has any experience with a cheap BM catalytic converter.

Just get a length of wood and hammer a couple of dents in the side that should stop the rattle for a month or so

Knowing my luck I would give it a tap and put a crack in the manifold lol

Just get the £10 one and make it fit, be sure to weigh the old one in they're worth ££££s

This man speaks much truths as I got a whole £7.50 for one

If they're anything like the couple I bought a few years ago, they make more fucking noise than the bolloxed ones you take off, welded by blind monkeys with parkinsons.

You'll find scrapyards aren't interested in buying odd ones of stuff like cats or battery's. If you've got a dozen then yes.

The most I've ever had for a cat is £20, sometimes they stick a probe down and give a price other times they go through a book to match up the number.

I don't bother even taking them untill I have ten or so as like sierra man says they don't want to know

If you can find a FIAT cat; listed on e-bay/amazon etc or someone breaking a FIAT - with the inlet n outlets similar to your old one, n a similar size, get a FIAT one, n weld/make it fit...

...the garage round the corner from me swear by FIAT cats; they fit them to a lotta 10year n older cars, that have failed the emmissions on the test - they reckon they are the best o/e cat....

BM Cats were a spinoff from BM Exhausts which were a local exhaust/tyre place to me when I lived in Mansfield. They weren't the cheapest but never had a problem with their exhausts or customer services, and I used to take all my motors there.

Not used one of their cats, but unless they've sold out massively they should be OK

I used to work there 12/13 years back. Good workmanship from what I recall but never bought anything personally

I bought a BM cat in the end and got it from EBay for £53 with delivery..

I was thinking of buying the one on Amazon which would of needed adapting for £12 but I think the garage would of cursed me if they had to cut and weld the thing up.
