Easton on the Hill car show/beer festival this Sat 27/8/16

It's my birthday on Saturday so we're going to take the steam roller along to this (as you do). Anyone else fancy it?? Normally a nice do and the pub is good

It's just down the road from me, I drive through it some mornings to get to Corby for work.

Stamford's car show is on the Monday too on the meadows.

 

I'm crewing this weekend though over at Shakespear for a VWDRC round

Well yesterday was a bit of a washout but we went anyway.

 

I was a bit nervous about causing chaos in town but in the event it was fine, we weren't going much slower than everyone else.

There wasn't much "shite" there more some very nice restored americans and a few choice Jags, Healeys etc. I'm afraid I got no pics before the downpour so this is nicked from facebook...

Today the weather was much better and we popped (without steam roller) to Stamford for the car show on the Meadows.

Poor wet dogs, I love the "UFO" camper, is it VW based?

Ironically I unexpectedly ended up about 3 miles away from Easton on the Hill yesterday afternoon (you'll find out why in due course) but forgot this was on. It certainly was very wet. Roller is nice but WTF is that camper all about?

A mate reckons it's VW underneath but I must admit I've not run the reg through a check or anything. If you google "Phoenix Camper Van" a load of scans come up. It was so 70s it was almost a pastiche of itself!!

I'm glad he's still got it Ken, a truly lovely engine, I have not seen it since Andy sold his low loader when the LEZ came in.

It's still going strong! He seems to pay more attention to the Foden though, which is running uber sweetly after fettling by 'Little Fred'.

 

He loved the ERF/low loader and hates the LEZ with a passion still.
