Cousin Lesley syndrome.....

Cousin Lesley was/possibly still is, a buffoon of the first water. He used to 'entertain' the family at Christmas with a slide show. All of his photographs without fail missed the action. Stuff like " this is the Durham procession just before it came round the corner". " Here is a picture of the bells ringing at York minster cathedral". "This is our daughter just after she left the stage" Etc.

That railway bridge is just down the road from the former Rootes (later Chrysler) factory at Linwood, opened in 1963 to build the revolutionary new car, the Hillman Imp. When they stopped building Imps there they built Talbot Sunbeams IIRC until the factory closed around 1980 ish. The original bridge advert had a Rootes logo on it  and proclaimed in huge letters 'Home of the Hillman Imp'.
