I like 80s but they're a bit small, I'd love a 100-shape A6 with the 1.9 TDI. Yours looks good, are new wings available?

Did it come from Inverurie or further North?

I haven't seen anything like that about for a long time.

I got off at Montrose, the car was about 15 miles from there. Would have liked to stay on the train, several attractive females. On their own. Surely one of them would have known about rusty Audi 80 wings?

Aye they are, but they're as tough and simple as big bro and much handier on the local roads, besides, the 140hp lump is overkill for commuting, I don't like sitting in a queue of traffic at 55mph in winter with veg only just burning fully. They also handle very sweetly on back roads, to the point they're almost sporty - odd for a German. No idea if new wings are around - I prob wouldn't be able to afford anyway. Always pre-tested, for me! Usually better quality that way, too.

Here's the first bit of wildlife I saw once into Scotland this morning.

nice Audi Mr

Ta gb - have you seen the price a nice square-rigged Sport can fetch? Always preferred the sound of the VAG four when it's not bolted across the car.

Thought about dropping in for a quick cuppa but had just overtaken a long line of traffic round your turnoff. Couldn't even stop for a piss, overtaking was going so well.

I went to see one locally, not so long back. It was a decent-enough example, but felt really cheap and crappy. Maybe I just associate those big old things with the creamy 5 pot.

Anyway, all this German-fondling is good for the French disease, I haven't looked at a single CX, 305 or Espace for sale, today.

Ta. As much as anything I'm chuffed I could work the tablet on a train, pics an'all. Minor achievement for analogue boy. Welding cars is more satisfying, though.

Always liked 80s and Avants. Looks good in grey too!

That'll go forever, any pre-96 Audi does.

Autoshite-style I missed the bloody train this morning. Well, it set off 30 seconds early and had its doors locked a full 2 minutes before takeoff. Not happy, but Virgin promised* to help out with the lack of bank balance. There I was, sitting on the platform at Yorruk and discussing the ins and outs of setting off early, with a bewildered young transport plod gazing at the two containers of veg. He never did pluck up the courage to ask.

Aye, friends near that Embra are good hosts. Then family nearer Thirsk, just got in now. It's an owd Audi with the little 90hp lump. Only 134 thousand analogue-recorded miles, a few things to sort but I think basically sound. It woke up a bit as I reminded it how to go rev over 2.5k again. By the time we left the 40mph roadworks (to protect the workforce, who were in bed) on the A1 south of Scotch Corner, it was flying along.

Nice to see an engine in the right way round.

You would have been more than welcome to pop in as kettle always ready to be used, toilet also available,

That offer available to all shitters passing on collectioning missions.

Glad the Audi went better than the old skud you collected from me, makes for a nice drive when not jumping in and out of limp mode.

Great thread nice motah. However had you worn a Burka and stuck an ISIS sticker on the fuel containers it might have been a tad more interesting?

Is the 4 pot TDI smoother in an 80 than it is in a 100/A6?

My Caddy is quite harsh and noisy, I think an A6 TDI would feel very smooth and refined in comparison.

Unfortunately an 80 estate will fail the 'fitting two greyhounds in the back' test.

.... more likely offer a sniff of their bacon sandwich M8

Anyone know for sure that the Coupe wings are the same as the others? I'm fairly sure they are but worth checking ShiteKnowlij® first.

Wrong! Coupe wings are less tall at the top rear edge, where they meet the A-post.

Not much in it, somehow the 4 potter felt all at sea in the big A6, both isolated from the driver but also 4-pot buzzy, if ykwim.
