Tamworthbay Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 I have seen a set of steel wheels going free for my new Dolomite but they are in Stamford and it will an age before I have the time to go and collect them. Has anyone found a cheap way to move a set of wheels around? Or if anyone regularly travels near Stamford and the midlands and would be happy to move them for a small fee/ beer tokens.
Supernaut Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 Paisley Freight do a deal on sets of wheels, something like £30 or thereabouts. Tamworthbay 1
egg Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 I looked at Paisley for getting my Ford wheels down to Kent from Bub, but dug around and found quite a lot of negative feedback about the company. I wonder if they are cheap for a reason!

I wonder if they are cheap for a reason! just found the same myself. I may have to look for a set closer to home as it's not worth forking out a lot on as I only need some to roll it round while I get mine sorted. Might have to do them one at a time if the worst comes to the worst.
tooSavvy Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 Is it all downhill? TS mouseflakes, Dick Cheeseburger, Lacquer Peel and 2 others 5

I wonder if they are cheap for a reason!I've used them loads of times, and they never fail to do the job quickly and reliably. Yes, the gaffer is a stereotypical grumpy Scotsman, but the actual delivery side of things is spot on. In fact, I've just had a set of alloys delivered this afternoon - they were delivered within 24 hours of being collected from the previous owner. Best bang for your buck if you need wheels delivered. egg 1

Supernaut Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 Neither, from my experience. They do a specific deal for 4 wheels with tyres (provided they're not stupid size, like 20" or something) for £28* flat rate anywhere in the UK mainland. *It was £28 last time I used them, a couple of years back now.
Dick Cheeseburger Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 is it based on distance or weight?Recently increased to £32.99 (set price regardless of weight) for set of wheels up to 17" to UK mainland addresses. Still not a lot else out there which provides a quick, reliable service, in my opinion.

dugong Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 I go past Stamford (from Peebo) up to see the Midlands AS crew a fair bit. If they're not covered in shit I don't mind getting them and dropping them at some services up the M6 the next time I'm heading up.
