Dead Allegro in the breakers (plus sierras, p6 etc)

Called by Glenfield motor spares yesterday and spotted this allegro estate. Same yard also had a scorched Rover P6 and a couple of well stripped Sierras. Allegro looked fairly complete and even had a tow bar. It's well too far gone but might have some good spares available.

How come the Rover 800 rotted more in 1999 that a 1979 Allegro?

If the Sierra has a battery clamp/bracket I'd be very grateful
