So my solution to a temporary transport issue (initially solved by my sister kindly lending me her 307 - nice motor btw), was of course to waste money on yet another piece o'crap.

 

 

Looks OK from several miles away.  The interior was filthy.  In my initial quick clean up I found a pay and display ticket from 2010 - before she owned the car.  I strongly suspect that the owner had never cleaned the inside.

 

The usual crusty arches on these-

 

 

 

 

What's the upside I hear you ask -

 

Well it only cost 295 English Pounds (although I have had to spring for some new tyres) with MOT till Sept 1st.  Not a bad MOT history either.

 

Anything else?

 

Yes, it has an oil leak and seems to be weeping coolant, oh, and best of all (and not detected on test drive) a slipping clutch.

Nice! Thkse arches dont look awful yet. Mine had a slipping clutch too when I bought it. Got another 10k out of it before having it changed, then scrapping it a year later due to rot.

 

Have that engine cover off for a while, you might see the leak then

My plan is to run until Sept - let MOT man laugh at it, then use arches (and probably sills) for welding and metalwork practice.  This plan will no doubt go as well as all my other plans.

Cable clutches on these, check it's not that first. Cracking engine, was the best part of myne lol

It's a hoot to drive (esp compared with my Disco and Yank Tank!).
