well now that her indoors has killed the Micra, I am on the hunt for a replacment, trawled the dreaded and apart from a couple of Saabs and a few mMoggies and a farina .....nothing is floating my boat...............................if I have to buy a short MOT shitter then I only want to pay about £250 ish tops, but I have more available iof something nice turns up :) all the good stuff seems to have faded away in the last 2 days  I also cant decide if I want a new style car or not as the last 5 "newer" vehicle I have owned have let me down and have lost me a lot of money I can say only 1 newer car has given me decent service inthe last 10 years........where as most of my older stuff just soldiers onany thoughts or offers of vehicles ?I should state I have a particular aversion to French motors as I have yet to own one that works for any decent amount of time.

That first Saab 9000 looks a good buy, had a couple of these, well the hatch versions, the saloons are a bit J-Lo for me, but the 2.0 engine is known to be stronger than the 2.3 and they did have some autobox worries, but this one seems low miles, if its genuine...I'll be keeping an eye on this one too!

well we are both about equidistant from it but I'm leaning towards the second one more for some reason, so go for it if you want. Her indoors wants the red Moggie I'm leaning towards Mr B's Ital....decissions, decissions...........

It's not a challenge, just a notation. However isn't an Ital basically an '80's moggie? If it was an auto i'd love it, sadly my knee is dictating my car choices.. :(

I didn't think it was a challange, I meant, but phrased badly that if I had been closer I'd have picked it up for you if you wanted. I'm still leaning away from it as I am not fond of her having an auto, I tried it once before and she just revs it up and down when she drives and the gear shifts and then she slows down again thus giving really crap economy.......I wish I could make my mind up what to do.

Mk3 Astra, I've had two over 7 years. They have never broken down in that period, they're well specced, parts are cheap, etc.
