Lankytim Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 Hi shitters. I've dropped a bollock and quoted £20 to send a pair of chrome bumpers that I sold on ebay. I gave the quote without thinking too much about it but now I've actually checked it out I'm getting quotes online of 50-60 quid. Are there any cheap couriers that handle large items? I would normally use MyHermes, but this is too big. The box dimensions are 170/50/35cm and it's 30Kgs Help!
Station Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 Go on Parcel2Go, I sent a bumper for about 10 quid.
Lankytim Posted April 4, 2016 Author Posted April 4, 2016 Go on Parcel2Go, I sent a bumper for about 10 quid. They've quoted me £40
Station Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 I sent a grille or something biggish to America - quote on the ebay auction was £20 for postage, but I said to the American person it'll be around £40, so he bidded and won. He said 'send me the quote and I'll cover it back by paypal'. He opened a dispute because it didn't arrive within 3 days. BELL END. Anyway, I get confirmation it was delivered - then ebay CLOSE the dispute and give him his MONEY BACK (£60 + £20 postage). He then disappears, obviously feeling twice lucky and got a free car part from England without paying any postage. I appealed against ebay's decision and the thick twat behind the computer says blah blah, your appeal has been rejected even though I had proof of delivery. They also greyed out the reply button. I still haven't rang ebay helpline as I believe I'll blow an artery in frustration/anger or end up in prison. Tell the seller it'll cost what it'll cost, and pay up front. It's not your fault.

Cavcraft Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 Parcelforce. If you do the on-line booking thing and they come in at under something like 8kgs (which I'm sure they will) you should be in luck.
Christine Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 It's not weight .... they don't like long parcels egg 1
Lankytim Posted April 4, 2016 Author Posted April 4, 2016 Oh and wheres it to and from? Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk It's from ST6, Stoke to RH98, Surrey somewhere. I don't mind no insurance, if it disappears I'll just refund the tenner the bumpers cost him.
robthedonkey Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 Bollox cant collect in stoke on favours dont have a friendly manager at that depot Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk Lankytim 1
Dave_Q Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 If you can somehow make the boxes less than 1.5m long then you can send up to 30kg via parcelforce via senditnow.com for about 12 quid. If it's over 1.5m they'd charge £38 which is still slightly less than you've been quoted so far.
