Renault Kangoo - Being French FIXED

Recommended Posts

Yep immo light flashing and all other lighting and indicators working OK. Just the temp, speed, fuel and digi panel dead. Anything obviously common across these?

Nothing that I'm aware of.

When you say the digi panel, do you mean the mileage/trip counter? Also that a second hand dash doesn't work either?

It is suggesting to me that pin 16 isn't getting power feed at all when the ignition on. The Clio dash I have will fire up and show the mileage/trip counter with just earth and +12 ign connected (iirc).

Yep mileometer, that's interesting I will focus on that first!

Replacment dash showing exactly the same symptoms

Am away at the mo so tackling it next weekend!

So I got the kangoo dropped off at mine so I could have some hard core multimeter action this weekend.

Now bear in mind that this has been to the local garage, a Renault specialist (teeth suckin and that will be 400 quid mate). Has had my brother in law look at it and then my mums bloke who I asked to double check all the fuses last week.

30 seconds later and I see there is a second fuse for the cluster as per SiCs advice (thanks!) Swapped the fuse over and hey presto.

I am a bit annoyed with myself that I took their word that everything has been checked before I bought a new cluster and dismantled the old one.

What is wrong with these people?

Great to hear you got it fixed. Often the simplest things get overlooked. I always go for them first, even if someone else has done so. A second pair of eyes are worth it to stop something being accidentally missed.

Was the fuse popped/burnt or was it just cracked?

Its all true. Fuse was popped. They are the solid bodied ones with the small window at the top but still would have expected someone to have spotted it before me!

I imagine no one got past the first instrument fuse listed in the handbook.
