For Fiats Sake Posted March 4, 2016 Author Posted March 4, 2016 I'll be about if there's a crisis Thanks, got your number in my phone, if it is really bad I'll give you a call, Spartacus reckons on the pins been siezed, loads of them on ebay so common fault? I'm really looking forward to this, cleared a space on the drive (well parked the 4x4 straddling the garden path) booked a cab (bus is totally useless up here) just need an early night (no chance to excited now) and make sure I'm up early enough to walk the dog before I set off!
spartacus Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 Somebody here may be able to say for sure but I also think they have a cross bulkhead linkage to the servo. This has many pivots in it which seize. Get some WD on them and work it a bit. Ooer.
For Fiats Sake Posted March 5, 2016 Author Posted March 5, 2016 Space cleared! Now at trains station. Metal seats are very cold this time of year. I suppose that's what the metro is for. The Moog, HMC, KruJoe and 3 others 6
spartacus Posted March 5, 2016 Posted March 5, 2016 That's you eh? I've admired that Panda filled drive on the Panda forum. Good luck with the pink Polo. For Fiats Sake 1

For Fiats Sake Posted March 5, 2016 Author Posted March 5, 2016 Car arrived at station. Won't start. Tried tow start, nothing. Back on truck to his work yard. Sellers buggered off to return borrowed truck. Crisis Christine has been called!
For Fiats Sake Posted March 5, 2016 Author Posted March 5, 2016 AA been called, attended and buggered off looking for a coil pack. Mal and Me are hoping for a good outcome as is seller who swears it drove up the ramp this morning.
For Fiats Sake Posted March 5, 2016 Author Posted March 5, 2016 AA unable to fix. Car abandoned. AA dropped me at station. Now if only trains ran to Yorkshire after 9:30pm
For Fiats Sake Posted March 5, 2016 Author Posted March 5, 2016 Cheers for all your help and support today Mal. Marvelous that this forum has such great comraderie.
Pillock Posted March 5, 2016 Posted March 5, 2016 I was just about to say how reliable my Mk3s have been, but... Erm... Yeah. Seriously though, my G40 put up with a yoof like my redlining it to hear the fabulous noise all the time and my more sedate one, whilst it had to have. a new engine, it was only because I let the cam belt slip. On an 80k car the rest was totally mint, utterly pristine. I do like these.
For Fiats Sake Posted March 5, 2016 Author Posted March 5, 2016 I did like these,if it had run would have been a nice project. Unfortunately I have only one option to get home- the national express. Gets me home by 6.00am tomorrow morning. Let's hope it's not full of drunken Northern types. Oh it doesn't leave until 11:30pm so 2hours of London weighting ahead. Seller very apologetic and is cancelling sale and refunding PayPal. I have received £50 compensation too. 6.5 hours on a coach.....
For Fiats Sake Posted March 5, 2016 Author Posted March 5, 2016 He's got a Seicento Schumacher listed now !!Well bloody hell l could have driven that home! Christ on a bike that's well shagged! Taped up sunroof and " on way to head gasket failure " .Never thought I'd here myself saying I'm better off on a coach! Coach is just pulling out of the station now....
Christine Posted March 5, 2016 Posted March 5, 2016 Only a quid too..... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FIAT-SEICENTO-MICHAEL-SCHUMACHER-SPARES-REPAIR-/272156657243?hash=item3f5dcd065b:g:Q7oAAOSwmmxW2civ
For Fiats Sake Posted March 5, 2016 Author Posted March 5, 2016 Only a quid too..... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FIAT-SEICENTO-MICHAEL-SCHUMACHER-SPARES-REPAIR-/272156657243?hash=item3f5dcd065b:g:Q7oAAOSwmmxW2civOverpriced!
Elstro1988 Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 Jesus....I'd be so mad if this was me. I know in this game you get what you pay for but come on....he was bullshitting the hell out of this Polo. Probably just wanted rid of it fast. Reminds me of the first Rio I went to go see was up for £495 but was completely shagged - rust on the body and in the engine bay, sounded like a stone in a tin can and just generally felt like it was 1 MOT away from total scrap. The dealer guy was like 'don't expect a Bentley for this kind of price' and offered to knock it to £450. I politely declined as I wouldn't have paid £350 for that wreck. I reckon some sellers have cottoned on the Autoshite movement and are now targeting us.Hope you managed to get home OK!
Christine Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 I've just txt him .. he made it home by 6am today .. The Polo is back on Ebay £125 B.I.N. . avoid... even the AA man couldn't get it to go .. The Moog 1
For Fiats Sake Posted March 6, 2016 Author Posted March 6, 2016 Yes home at 6am this morning, no sleep on coach as everytime it went over a bump the back suspension banged like a brick in a dustbin. Hit the sack at 6.45 and woke up at ten past 12. I was meant to be at work at 12. managed to get there for 12:45. Finished at 5 and have been fading in and out of consciousness on the chair ever since. So some time and maybe a few quid out of pocket, more annoyed I didn't get to drive along Brighton seafront and look at the wrecked pier! No point me being angry about it, what's done is done and who knows I might have come off worse if the thing had started what with the dodgy brakes and a 275mile journey home. Seller was very apologetic, gave me £50 for my troubles so can't grumble.I'll chalk this one up to experience, been lucky only had to abandon a collection once before due to FTP
nigel bickle Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 A frame would have sorted that.... But then it would have been your problem to sort. Probably best avoided, I think you' ve swerved a potential moneypit.. For Fiats Sake 1
Christine Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Unfortunately , by the time Fiat and me and Mr AA had tinkered , the flat paint had hand prints all over it ... We should have drawn a big cock on the roof before we left it , For Fiats Sake 1
Lacquer Peel Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 We should have drawn a big cock on the roof before we left it , In T-cut. Christine 1
