BOGOF Peugeot 306 diesels.

You'll all know why by now, so here goes.

1998 306 1.9 n/a diesel.

Bosch pump, so veg oil friendly and in use (with veg) most days

MOT May

130,000 miles (will have to check that)

Taxed to get you home

Power steering

Put a new centre and rear box exhaust on it, got some (o.e) alloys (not pictured at minute) and had a couple of 'like new' part worn tyres fitted.

Phenomenal on fuel, never measured MPG but trust me it's doing loads.

Has, will and does run on 100% veg (62.5PPL) but likes some petrol or diesel on colder days.

I would drive this car to the end of the world (Ellesmere Port) and back no danger, it's been brilliant.

It's slow

It's not the best looking car in the world

It's slow

It wants a massive c lean up inside/out but I'll dot hat before it goes

Suspect passenger side door seal doing what they do (but see below)

Heater sometimes packs up or goes noisy. The Autoshite way to fix this is to give it a quick boot and then it's fine. So that's what I do.

Scrape one ns/r wheel arch, some others too I think and the odd 'dink'

No-one is ever going to tell you it's a nice car, plenty will comment on the small from the exhaust

Aside from power steering I'm unsure of any 'extras' or features you'd want to show off about.

Picture taken from when I got it, more updated when I CBA. Bear in mind it now has alloys wheels which transform it as much as alloy wheels could.

In truth I suppose it's only appeal* is the absolute and utter mingebaggery of it and the fact it's been really reliable. I can own cars and get rid of them without even thinking about it, this is harder because it's so horrible it's actually great and I've grown quite attached to it.

So, BOGOF?

Well, included in the price is this, which is exactly the same/colour and spec and has an even better n/a engine with Bosch pump. This has new heater plugs fitted not long before it went off the road and also had new cam belt, tensioners (or whatever it has) and a water pump. I successfully managed over 3,000 miles all on veg in this and went everywhere possible in it, inc. a couple of family holidays. It loved veg, started well and never really gave me any agro. It does currently have a set of Speedlines (with fair-average tyres on) which I'd like to keep but for the asking price will be included. Been in a garage for a while so full of crap and stinks, but I bet it'll fire up first go if I charge the battery.

It has no MOT and won't see another, unless you find a battle ship or destroyer to use the metal from to create a new n/s/r inner wheel arch.

Positively ideal for spares to keep the other going, I suppose you could (laughably) attempt to use a towing pole from the MOT'd one and drag it home, if that's legal and you don't intend countering any hills etc.

What a shame it'll (genuinely) be to see these go but don't need them now and one will free up garage space. Can deliver the MOT'd one within about 25 miles free or very cheap once it's been paid for.

Brucie bonus: MOT'd one will come with a full tank of veg so you've no worries about filling it up for quite a few miles yet!

Price? God knows, I think circa...

£399 for the two should do it. I think next up needs to be some crappy old 4x4 for local ofroading.

If you saw them you'd probably laugh, but looks aren't the appeal of this. Chester, Cheshire.

If the 1.9n/a diesel in this is of the same sort they threw in the ZX then I'll have yer know that it can do a 19 second quarter mile!

GLWTS. :)

Mrs_SA had one of these, I don't recall the n/a 1.9 slowing her down much... It was unbelievably frugal, tough as old boots and put up with her abuse for years. I can't see what's not to like here.

I do like it better on those rusty steels though 8)
