Kiltox's 1997 Rover 216 Cabriolet (30/05 - Fixery)

Is it bad that I'm considering fixing this piss green pile of shite? Not even sure why, it's fucked and pretty awful and undoubtedly getting ready to reward me for giving it another MoT by grenading it's engine like scaryoldcortina's one did

Posted

Yeah I did that last year and it lobotomised itself so I had to give it a brain transplant. So yeah fix it, it's a great idea!

Hmm... maybe it's even more cruel to keep it living than to put it down

Maybe that's what it deserves

Try driving it back to the factory without using ferries or trains

Two months more than the unknown ones I had fitted then.

I did say at the time that the only rear bushes that appear to last are genuine Renault parts!

I know, I shan't be fitting these shitty efforts a second time. 8 months is ridiculous.

Pfft, it's a renault. The OEM parts are probably made of dirty cheese.

I spent £60 on a pair on a pair of OEM axle bushes yesterday. Buy cheap, buy twice!!!!

I'm not sure who got the better deal though

I'll have you know those bushes are only 11 months old! you've got the receipt to prove it!

I'm a bit gutted to bin it really because I don't think it would take much to sort but I don't have the time, need to be out of my unit by April

Could you just fill them with tiger seal I wonder like people do with engine mounts....

Search the internet - there are people filling them with polyurethane as a DIY fix for not a lot of money. I'm considering it for one car as I can buy the polyurethane for a few quid but the cheapest mount is over £30 and it isn't difficult to pay twice that.

Second Goona and Astra van are now gone

Van is still available for £800

Fiesta still available for £350

Golf auto £350

Laguna diesel auto £400

Citroen C3 HDI (2009, 62k miles, MOT Dec) £1800

Bunch of tools and stuff too

Think the Laguna has a vacuum leak - brake pedal goes hard and loses servo assistance when crawling around near idle speed and using brakes repeatedly. Builds up again fine when driving above 15 mph or so

Anyone got £250 for it? July MOT

206k miles, 1.9dci 6 speed manual SWB low roof

Rough running due to a dodgy crank sensor (cleaning it 4K ago sorted it but it probably wants changing). Engine, turbo, box are great and I seriously doubt original. Engine is a bit oily, couple of leaks but it's not pissing everywhere. Roof is leaky.

£500 as it sits.

this still for sale?

Thinking of flying over and picking up a cheap van to run stuff back with, and this would be ideal....

C3 gone and I think laguna is going in part x against the Duster unless anyone wants it really badly.

Golf and Fiesta still here and cheap!

Silly question of the day, did the van sale go through?

A mate of mine local to you is looking for a van.
