Sorry for not posting in the other side, but this one gets more traffic.

 

I have committed an ebay faux-pas. I was happily bidding on, and won, a bakelite telephone. In my eagerness I missed that it was a collection only item, I don't want to let the seller down and I do want it so is there anyone near there who could pick it up for me and hang onto it until I can sort out collection or wrap it box it and post it to me. Beer tokens will be provided as reimbursement.

A similar thing happened to me last year. Collection only etc. Contacted the seller, explained my error and offered to pay for postage plus a couple of £s for his trouble. Seller reluctantly agreed and posted it on. Worth a go?

I no longer need to call on the power of autoshite to help me out, the seller came up trumps and posted it. The packaging was superb so it arrived today without damage. It's a nice ivory bakelite 300 series, to replace the one I wish I hadn't sold a few years ago. Currently awaiting delivery of a green 300 series, to replace the one I wish I hadn't sold years ago. It's from a different seller, so I hope the packaging is as good, as herpes and yodel have a habit of flinging things over the gate if I'm not home.
