Bicester Heritage Sunday Scramble

for those that don't know about it, Biscester Heritage is a former RAF bomber base in Oxfordshire that is being transformed into a classic a vintage car centre for , with loads of specialists, vintage sales and car storage businesses housed in the old RAF buildings.

http://bicesterheritage.co.uk

A couple of times a year , they have an open morning and ,usually , loads of old cars attend.

Today it was pissing down, which obviously discouraged a lot of people, but seemed to encourage others, who obviously consider it wildly eccentric* to get wet.

As a fully qualified graduate of the Cavcraft School of Photography, , you'll find my pictures both informative and aesthetically pleasing.

Sexy. But those plates? (I know, I know, it's his car and all that so don't start. It's just my harmless opinion you all can freely ignore)

Posted

I agree, bin thinking of changing them.

1973 is an awkward age, raised letter reflective would be nice I think.

But as can be seen from the oh so classy sign in the window, it might be off to a new home.

Posted

Oh yes, raised letter yellow and white reflective plates would so suit that!

Sold it or selling? (Add inevitable question here)

Thanks for sharing the photos.  I knew it was on, but it was peeing it down and my Stellar is filthy and has rusty rear arches.  After seeing the photos of Stony Straford with hundreds of gleaming classics, I was too *embarrassed to drive it to Bicester.  When I lived there (1959/60) the largest aircraft to regularly use the field were Avro Ansons.  I've got a photo somewhere of my Dad's Austin 7 parked on the camp, and of the Spitfire which used to decorate the parade ground.

*ok, sod the car, I did not want to get wet.
