Reminds me of when I was in uni in the early '90s and the event was something like the Slick 50 Italian Challenge at Cadwell. The fastest thing in qualifying was a 1980s Alfa Gtv and just after lunch a bloke arrives with a DeTomaso Pantera and a massive pair of sunglasses.

 

Because he missed qualifying he had to start from the back of the grid and when the lights went green he was cutting through traffic like that Facebook video. He was a bit cautious on the corners but on anything like a straight he would overtake easily. On the start straight he was passing 4 cars at a time, every lap.

 

And all accompanied by that throbbing Ford V8. Awesome

Its a shame motorsport is so out of reach for normal people,because as Top Gears laptime thingy showed,some people do have talent but will never realise it.

 

Hmmm a cheap race series involving cheap old stuff.....wonder how much that would cost between lots of keen and enthusiastic people who dont mind swinging spanners between them......where could they be found?
