Does anyone know anything about 2001 1.4 renault meganes? Specifically the coupe version?

May have a potential on one as my next wagon, so any advice as to what to look for and if they are any good or not.

It was made at a time when Renaults didn't have a great reputation for reliability, and now it's 14 year old, just about double the age they're supposed to last.  If you're after reliable motoring you might want to look elsewhere.

But they're not bad looking so if it's in epic condition and you don't depend on it every day it might be worth a go for shits and giggles.

1.4 16v good in fuel and surprisingly quick. Easy enough to work on in most respects. Good radio, usual soft squidgy seats.

Sweet. Am in two minds about trying to fix the fezza. Seems parts i need arnt in abundance and scrappys rarely keep them long before crushing

The 1.4 8v isn't the quickest from experience but the amount still on the road in spite of being worth nowt must be a good sign. 16v is probably better but I'll shut up now because I know nothing apart from the one I used to get a ride in didn't go wrong over the course of a year. The lad was suitably impressed and traded up to a Laguna II

They aren't bad cars really, they have their faults but all cheap and easy to fix

Just make sure cambelt isn't overdue, these don't seem to be as forgiving as other cars
