Honda Accord Coupe 2.0 Vtec - £170

No panics - but thread tomorrow as had to get back and be sociable; friends planned to do foods and stuff but were aware car collection was in progress, so all cool here.

Not really a FTP, either - essentially the vibration was a sticky caliper that got steadily worse until it stank and there was smoke - just getting onto the path of the tunnel and on to the motorway. After some abusive to & fro braking it freed up enough to roll at idle in drive, so pointed it at the A1 and planned to stop again if it caught fire, made any horrid noises, or tried to fire me into traffic or verge. Instead, it smoothed out, was happily trotting along at 70, only sign of malady being a clear "this diagonal split of brakes is working, this diagonal split is not". Sticky caliper is offside rear and I think it made the fluid hot causing the front one to stick too.

Durham services reached with the orange light on, shoved £30 in, and aside from crap traffic jams because people are stupid (merge ahead of the lane closure you idiots, then we'd all get through at 30-40 instead of having to stop to let you in) it made it down to Leicester on that £30, at motorway speeds, in comfort and with the radio providing remarkably good sound for some Bangin' Choons. No overheating, spluttering or other maladies. Got back a bit after 11 (but not phone-prodding or laptop poking because sociable) but all delays were due to traffic, not the Honda.

Very pleased with it, thankyou, and it was great to meet you. The relay has clearly sorted the running issues, and the heated seat on the driver's side works on the backrest for sure, which is the best thing about heated seats.

Total cost including fish & chips and C6 fuel too = < a train ticket from York to London. This country is insane.

Yeah, it went to plan after we got Richard to thump the brakes a few times. Car looks good on the road, and don't worry, I did a shit load of handover shots. Then We had fish and chips and followed him home in my future shitter...

I've not done a shite car handover/collection in ages. It made me realise what I've been missing...

Anyone got anything like this for sale? :)
