HPI/Car Check

Hey.

Sorry to sound like a complete Noob.  Actually, I'm reasonably clued up on these things usually.

Anyway, Buying a car tomorrow.  (See Merc 190 thread).  Haven't written down the V5 number/MOT number anywhere and can't get hold of the buyer tonight.

Really I just want to check the miles.  It's at the bottom of the market, so comfortable there's no finance outstanding. It's really just the miles I'd like to see.

Which of these websites/apps is best?  Ã‚£20 for HPI seems excessive here.

Also, if anyone has an HPI account I'm happy to bung you some money directly.

Hope to hear.

Try mytextcheck (https://www.mytextcheck.com) - for £3 it will tell you everything about the car EXCEPT for O/S finance. I've used it a couple of times on sub £1k cars and its always been alright, at least I;ve never been pulled over and thought to myself 'well MTC didn't tell me about that'

Several other similar services for a similar price exist.

I wouldn't worry about the miles on a car that age, condition and some evidence that it's been looked after are much more important.

If it drives well, doesn't make any horrible noises and most things work there probably aren't any mileage related horrors lurking, even if it has been clocked.

I use totalcarcheck.co.uk and they now include a finance check too. It's about the cheapest I think.
